Do I have to be an Accredited Investor to join UVC?
No! UVC operates under the new SEC rules and guidelines that permit involvement from both accredited and non-accredited investors. However, most non-accredited investors are restricted to investing $2,500 annually, with the possibility of higher amounts based on net worth. Our mandatory Know Your Customer (KYC) program will guide you to the investment program that best fits your profile.
What if I'm an Unvalley Founder interested in raising capital from UVC?
Our goal is to present as many credible investment opportunities to our membership as possible. As a member of UVC, we will collaborate with you and provide guidance on how to meet the minimum requirements for consideration by the Investment Committee. The timeline for this process may vary from weeks to months, depending on the status of your startup.
As a member of UVC, am I eligible to become part of the Investment Committee?
Yes, we will initiate a call for interest and establish the inaugural Investment Committee in 2023 for a one-year term. We aim to create a highly diverse group of individuals. If you are interested in serving on the Investment Committee, please indicate that on your member application.
Is there a cost to being a member of UVC?
Yes, there will be various membership tiers: Learning ($9.99 per month), Basic Investing ($19.99 per month), and Premium Investing ($49.99 per month). Powderkeg Premium members will receive a Learning Membership at no charge. Based on the pricing structure Basic investing members will end up spending less than $5.00 to purchase each due diligence report.
How many deals will UVC facilitate each year?
We anticipate it will take 12-18 months for UVC to establish a steady flow of high-quality investment opportunities. Ultimately, UVC aims to present a new investment opportunity for member consideration every week. Until then, we ask for patience from our early members and encourage them to help spread awareness of UVC within the Unvalley community.
Can I just give UVC money to invest on my behalf?
UVC is not a Venture Fund, and as per SEC regulations, each member must make their own investment decisions. However, we envision the possibility of offering a feature in the future that would allow members to invest an equal portion of funds into every opportunity.
What types of deals will UVC focus on?
UVC's primary focus will be investing in high-potential startups within Powerkeg's 20+ Unvalley Tech Hubs and beyond. Our investment approach is guided by three principles: 1) Encourage Innovation, 2) Promote Diversity, and 3) Aim for Growth.
Who is behind UVC
UVC is a collaboration between PowderKeg (www.powderkeg.com) and Doriot Markets, LLC (www.doriot.com) in partnership with regulated financial institutions, aimed at bringing Venture Capital 3.0 to the Unvalley regions.
Can I invest in the UVC platform itself?
All UVC investing members will have an opportunity to invest in the UVC platform. We expect to be our own first customer to demonstrate the power of community to Unvalley Founders.
